The "Agro" place

Our current favorite place to eat is an "Agrotouristica" restaurant near a castle in the small town of Baia. Baia is right next to Pozzuoli (so the drive is short!) inside an old volcano and while walking in you can see out over the water all the way to Mount Vesuvius. The pictures on this page are from several trips and with different groups of people.

The walk in to the place is a little easier now that they laid some stone stairs. We used to walk in on a dirt path through the vineyards, which was really neat... unless it was raining. Here are Julie, Cory and Eric on the walk in for lunch... and here they are climbing back out to the parking area. Notice the smiles? The local wine is pretty good.

The food we eat here is all "natural" which is to say that it is locally grown, raised, etc. or traded with other "Agro" restaurants. The fresh ricotta cheese is out of this world and it is worth coming to Naples just to try it! Here are two of the guys showing of a huge pork roast that they stuffed with carrots and friarelli (which is a type of greens similar to broccoli) The interior of the restaurant is really neat. Everything is done up in a rustic style and the food you see hanging from the ceiling (Sausages, cheeses, garlic, etc) is actually consumed and not just for decoration.

Okay, now for photos of friends! Here is the mother (on the right) and aunt of Angela who along with Tony, have their own restaurant in Agnano. Here is Chris and Mario on the same evening (I told you the wine was good didn't I? ) This is a group photo during a lunch one Sunday. Here is Julie and Cory. Julie's mom had called from the states so they were saying hi. Julie and Eric. I really don't want to keep mentioning it but... Julie, did I tell you the wine was REALLY good? That is it for now.
