The man whose hands you see here is Mahmoud Shohpasandi. |
He does a type of art work that is VERY intricate. He cuts out wood pieces here. |

This is a small portion of the basis for the piece. It is composed of small long thin pieces of brass, camel bone, and wood of different colors. They are tightly bound in forms as shown here. |

The bundles are then cut razor thin resulting in beautiful flowering patterns. These are placed together after cutting. |
...and long strips of these are then used for picture frames, etc. We have seen this style often in the west, but realize now they were simply cheap knock-offs. This is really something to see. |
