Taking a train ride in the White Mountains

August 2013

Catch up time on the postings! We just returned from a wonderful Friday spent up in the White Mountains. First thing this morning I decided (anton) that we should check off the "Train Ride" on our to-do list now that Aurelia is old enough to enjoy it. Right after breakfast we headed North for the 2 hour drive to North Conway, New Hampshire and the Conway Scenic Railroad. Our plan was to take the train from N. Conway to Bartlett and return. The trip had several options and due to the timing of the trips and our drive time we took the option with lunch in the Chocurua Dining Car from 11:30-1:00pm.

Caden

We arrive just in time so Caden, Aurelia and Mom all had to use the restroom as soon as we arrived and boarded. The train pulled within 2 minutes of our boarding-we just made it.

Aurelia still trying to figure out this "train" thing. Notice all the nice wood and glass work in the dining car.

Yummy-Hot Dogs on the train!

Caden

Caden and Moma passed on the hot dogs-Crab Cake Sandwich in the White Mountains-with Root Beer it just doesn't get any better than that! Well-actually it does... Papa went with the pulled pork sandwich. The food is all prepared and served by the PROFESSIONAL staff from "Crawfords" at the Attitash Mountain Resort. We had an excellent waitress-real top notch!

A little exploring while they ran the Locomotive to the other end of the train for the return trip!
