Lake Umbagog State Park

In late May 2009 we took our newly purchased Coalman/Fleetwood "Santa Fe" Tent trailer out for a test run. To say that we had a blast is a gross-understatement.

We travelled up late afternoon Friday under a typical North-Eastern Early-Summer Sky...

Fishing

The first morning saw coffee, breakfast of Fried Eggs and Sausage Gravy over toast and then some fishing (Anton and Caden getting serious on the Androscoggin River!!)

Fire

After a long day, a good campfire sets the stage for a good nights sleep. With a sunset to die for, Loons calling across the lake, and Bull Moose bellowing on the nearby ridges, we had a really good time.

If you listen very close while playing the above video, you wil hear an "Alm" horn... a 12-16 foot long Swiss/Bavarian horn played normally in the Alps. A couple had brought one and played it out over the water in the evenings allowing it to echo out on the lake and off the nearby mountain-tops. At one point, Bull Moose nearby were answering the horns' calls. Out of view are the bats fishing over the water.

Sleep

After a long day fishing, one needs to catch up on some sleep, This is best done with a good pal!!

Moose

We saw a "few" Moose while up North...

The above is a LARGE video of a small Bull Moose feeding that Maggie took

Moose

Ten to be exact... 9 Bulls and 1 Cow!!

Yellow Perch

We were told Lake Umbagog is full of tasty fish. Caden agreed!! Over the weekend he caught Lakers, a 13" Small-Mouth Bass and Red-Breasted Sunfish! I ended up catching a small Pickerl.
